It was a night to remember alright. Very rarely do you see two top class music acts on the same bill but that’s exactly what the Ripple gang engineered at the Lewes Con Club.
Local favourites Pam & De Femmes, now swelled to an octet with flute and trombone, got the show and the crowd going from the get-go. They dipped into their unique repertoire of songs from all around the globe to delight their admirers and surprise those seeing them for the first time.
After the interval Good Lovelies, a female trio from Toronto Canada, delivered a luxurious 90 minute song set which allowed for a great deal of warm banter and friendly interaction with the audience. The ladies have been together since 2006, constantly expanding their country/folk based harmonies to incorporate pop and jazz. All of this heartfelt professionalism conspires to produce the kind of take-away warm glow that great gigs are made of. A night to remember, if you were lucky enough to get a ticket before they sold out.
