Westgate Chapel

Westgate Chapel (often referred to as Tom Paine’s Chapel) is run by volunteers who give their own time to support this historic venue.

It is the headquarters of the both the Oyster Project and Radio Lewes.

It has two spaces that are available for hire, either separately or together – the beautiful wood- panelled Chapel, ideal for concerts and choirs, and the Hall, a flexible rehearsal room and meeting space. Both spaces are hired out for regular and one-off bookings via a secure online booking system.

The chapel has a near perfect acoustic plus stage lighting and PA. It is a unique atmospheric location ideal for smaller events and seats up to 60/70 in pews with custom made foam cushions.

The hall has a stripped pine floor and is suitable for classes, meetings, groups and seminars. It has a portable PA, an electrically operated screen and projector plus a portable bar. Seating for 36 is available.
