Pam and de Femmes have nine members, using vocal harmonies and ukulele, guitar, flute, cajon, bass, violin and accordion. On occasion a trombone or two, congas and percussion have been added. They play great songs in various languages. World music, international music. Dance music. Music for the soul. They are fascinating! (their words, but we agree!)

Here’s the Femmes’ version of ‘Mir Ist So Nach Dir’ from the musical revue Es Liegt In Der Luft. The review opened on May 15th 1928 at the Komödie am Kurfürstendamm, Berlin, with music by Mischa Spoliansky (born in 1898 in the Polish city of Białystok) with lyrics by Marcellus Schiffer. The music draws on influences from American jazz and Argentine tango characteristic of the cabaret music of Berlin in the 1920s. Here it’s sung in the original German. Video by the band, sound engineering by Mick Gibbs.
